Founder Carlos Jones spent 20 years incarcerated - years shaped by a lack of strong role models, unprocessed trauma, and an immaturity that was not effectively challenged or re-directed. Those choices changed the course of his life. But out of that experience came clarity, purpose, and a mission to make sure other young people don't have to learn the hard way.

CARLOS JONES | FOUNDER

My name is Carlos Jones, founder of Helping Individuals Develop (H.I.D.), a youth mentorship and prevention organization dedicated to breaking cycles of incarceration through mentorship, sports, life skills, and educational opportunities.

I’m from the humble town of Jacksonville, TX. I served 20 years in Prison learning lessons the hard way.But, the diamond in the dirt is…, they don’t have to be learned the hard way. I’m targeting the ages of 13-19 because this is the time frame my very own life began to spiral out of control.

So, naturally my heart is to pass on the things I’ve learned so our youth don’t have to follow the same path I did. TOGETHER, let’s break this cycle of incarceration…
